"Taking Root" in Fruita December 28
 

Join us for a free Community Cinema screening of "Taking Root", the inspiring story of the life of Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Wangari Maathai will be held at 6:30 pm at the Dinosaur Journey Museum, 550 Jurassic Court, Fruita.

Benita Phillips, President of WCC of Mesa County, will participate in a panel discussion after the film.

Community Meetings on North Fork Lease Sale January 4 & 5
 

Come to Community Meetings to learn about the BLM's proposed August 2012 lease for oil and gas development of 22 parcels/30,000 acres of land surrounding the towns of Paonia, Hotchkiss, and Crawford and the Paonia Reservoir.
 
Local organizations (listed below) will be hosting two public meetings in Crawford and Paonia to answer questions and gather input for the January 9 deadline for public comments. 

PAONIA MEETING
Wednesday, January 4th, 6:30-8:00pm

CRAWFORD MEETING
Thursday, January 5th, 6:30-8pm

Spaghettipalooza in Grand Junction January 12
 

Spaghettipalooza, a free spaghetti dinner at The Center for Independence [740 Gunnison Ave, GJ] at 5:30 - 7:00 pm.
