Enter WCC’s Wilderness Photo Contest!

To honor the 1964 Wilderness Act, the 3.5 million acres of wilderness within Colorado, and our members’ tireless dedication to protecting and preserving our wildlands, Western Colorado Congress invites its members to submit their best wilderness-related images to our 2014 Photo Contest!

Contest entries will be voted on by attendees of WCC’s Annual Meeting on October 12. Deadline for submissions has been pushed back till Friday, October 10th.  Click here for complete Contest Rules and Contest Entry Form.

To enter the contest, submit a photograph of a Colorado Wilderness, Wilderness Study Area or similar lands in the National Preservation System. Each member may submit only one (1) photo to the contest. The photograph must have been taken by the entrant, and submitted both as a digital file, and as a matted print (minimum print size 8”x10”).

Three winners will be honored, all of which will receive two tickets to John Fielder’s “Wilderness at 50 Slideshow & Presentation” in Grand Junction (11/19/14), Montrose (11/20/14) OR Paonia (11/21/14).
In addition, winners will receive:

  • 1st Place—A signed copy of John Fielder’s Mountain Ranges of Colorado: 50th Anniversary Edition book of photography.
  • 2nd & 3rd Place— A “Colorado Wilderness at 50” commemorative poster signed by John Fielder.

Winning images will appear on WCC’s website, Facebook and related social media pages, and at the WCC office (if the winners so desire).
